i find it so annoying how the first elimination in ridonculous race was a double elimination. i wish i could see more of Serena's and Colette's dynamic both with each other and with other teams :(

Welp, I finally sat down to finish some Pesterquest routes after like 612 years, so I’m late to the party as usual, but anyway, Feferi’s route.

Not gonna lie, I was kinda... disappointed, especially with how well it started, like at first my only complaint was that she was a bit overusing her glubs/bulbs - she uses them a lot, but not that much, but oh well, whatever, quirks are confusing. 

But I really liked how it touched on her loneliness, the whole “being the only fuchsia other than the Empress herself”, her being so excited when she hears that MSPA Reader tried to find her, and then going so sad when the Reader tells her that not really. Just, ouch. And how she shared her ambitions with us - a bit quickly, but it was, indeed, quite Feferi-like, girl, you don’t share your revolutionary ideas with anyone who zaps in front of you, i love her - but then things went just... weird. Like, plainly weird. Like the writer either had no idea what to do with her or just wasn’t taking any of this seriously. Or, I don’t know. I genuinely don’t know. It was just so bizarre with “Karako” and Dark Carnival, and, Jesus, that was just really, really weird. 

Dunno, we could’ve talked about her unhealthy moirallegiance with Eridan, or make her realize her own hypocrisy after finding out her plans to redefine culling, since they’re actually pretty bad. But, nah.

It’s like some of these routes are being taken seriously, and some of them aren’t, which is a shame, cuz characters like Feferi weren’t given all that much focus in the webcomic, so it was probably her only shot at letting readers who weren’t all that interested in her get to understand her a bit better.

your movements play in front of him languidly, the corner of your lips curling up slightly as you smirk. honey catches on your finger as you pop open the bottle cap.

he’s supposed to be out the door in five minutes if he wants to make it in time for a meeting at the agency. technically, he should already be there if he wants to keep up his track record of consistently being fifteen minutes too early.

but you start to approach him, rounding the kitchen island. there’s a narrow space between him and the slab of marble, but you slide into it like it was made for you.

he’s certain it was, from the way the tip of your nose brushes against his as you tiptoe. your tits are right fucking there, brushing against the skintight material of his suit.

there’s too much fucking fabric if you ask him, between cotton and spandex.

your grin widens, and he feels hot, the heat from his cheeks radiating.

then you whisper, still saccharine, “breakfast is ready,” before kissing him on the lips lightly. a short peck, soft in the way that promises more before you slip away, giggling in your retreat.

he huffs, watching you leave. his feet shift as he thinks.

one thing that i've noticed and begun to seriously appreciate upon rereading the watch novels is --

sam and sybil are not in love when they get married.

they like each other, but they aren't in love. and i think this is why sybil seems to be kind of in the background of men at arms and feet of clay, like, sure, she's his wife and he appreciates her and cares for her but he doesn't love her -- yet.

and i think it's the knitting moment at the end of jingo when it happens to him. like that john green quote about how you fall in love slowly and then all at once? i think the moment when he comes home and she's been trying to knit him socks but she's no good at knitting and so it ends up being a scarf instead of socks -- i think that's the "all at once".

and then after jingo, suddenly sybil matters more to him, appears more in his thoughts, he's so proud of her in the fifth elephant for everything she does (she is such a badass in the fifth elephant), and it's the cigar case she gave him that is what he longs for amd desperately needs to hold onto in night watch, the memory of her. she's much more important to him and his perspective in the later watch books, and yes the doylist interpretation is that sir terry developed the relationship more as he grew as a writer because he didn't feel like he was very good at writing romance, but i like the watsonian interpretation --

that sam vimes was not in love with sybil ramkin when he married her, but instead fell madly in love with her along the way.

Isn’t it crazy how hard some people on this website pushed the narrative that Biden “is just trying his best” “doing what he can in a broken system” “is expressing remorse, which Trump wouldn’t do” when it just broke the US has signed off on billions’ worth of bombs and jets, hot on the heels of Biden signing off on a bill that defunds the UNRWA?? Like isn’t that just something. They didn't leave because you were a bad person. They left because they couldn't save you and had to save themselves. It's not an indictment of either your worth or their love. You didn't ask too much, they just couldn't be what you needed and had to make space for someone who could.

In another life, where you had had the help you deserved, where you had had the space to breathe, where something had been different, it wouldn't have happened. Sometimes, it's all just a consequence of circumstances outside of our control. None of you deserved any of this, and you all get to hurt and grieve and be angry that it all fell out this way. But don't be ashamed that the pain got the best of you. You didn't fall short any more than they did. You just became overwhelmed.
